Observations and suggestions

Observe that the first semester is relatively easy. It makes a lot of sense to take additional elective courses at the first semester.

In particular, cybersec elective courses of cryptology at Tartu are a good choice for people interested in tech and math!

You are supposed to declare your courses for the first semester during the first half of september, using the OIS system. Contact the study administration people at IT-235 Raja 15, 12618 Tallinn, phone 6203528, email i@ttu.ee for necessary passwords and for any other kinds of technical administrative help!

If for some reason you are cannot declare a course in time, do not despair: it is ok to start the study without declaring all courses immediately.

Ideas for dditional courses during fall 2010

Initial suggestions:

  • Tartu: Cryptology I. Requires good math background. See course page and contact Peeter Laud (peeter_l@ut.ee) for questions about possible distance learning, replacing lab time on Thursdays etc.
  • If you have too little background in IT (general issues, networking, programming) then discuss with Tanel Tammet about suitable warmup courses for the fall 2010: email your background and come to room IT-223 on Wednesdays between 10-11.
